Our Mission

We're dedicated to arts- and nature-oriented experiences that promote appreciation of the land. In furtherance of this mission, the Friends of Holcomb Farm have launched a Capital Campaign. We envision a dramatically expanded property, affording more teaching space, more programs, and a doubling of our capacity to host visitors.

Improvements will transform the Farm from an aging piece of West Granby’s past to a beautifully preserved historic property that serves the Greater-Hartford community. Specifically, the aims we expect to achieve through renovations are to:

     • Preserve our historic structures, 322 acres of splendid natural beauty, and
       the self-reliant legacy of generations of Holcombs.

     • Expand our highly acclaimed Link & Learn program, which brings together
       children of all backgrounds for science and arts learning in our peaceful
       setting;

     • Broaden our arts & crafts curriculum for children and adults to include more
       visual and performing-arts opportunities in our inspiring surroundings;

     • Foster more community interaction, by sponsoring festivals, movies and
       musical events, and by making space available for community use.
